Band Bio

Balor "the biography so far..."

Back in 2000  the young  Christophe and his friend Laurent played guitar and wanted to form a band, when the two met Gilles he became their bassist and later they met Johnny who became their drummer and finally Christophe could form a band, but they had no name, no idea what to play or what to sing about...later on the four decided to name the band "SPIT" and to cover the Nu-Metal band "KoЯn"
[the member listing was: Christophe (vocals and guitar), Laurent (guitar), Gilles (bass) and Johnny (drums)].
After a few years of  KoЯn-covering  nothing kept going and Spit was literally wasting away, so in 2006 Laurent left the band and Tun went in, a few months later Gilles left too and Sascha became Spit's new bassist. They stopped covering  KoЯn, brought in Cliff (who became their singer), renamed Spit into BALOR and went from Nu-Metal/Hard rock to Metal. With Balor the musical career of the five went straight up but after a few gigs Sascha was kicked out for breach of trust on his band mates and Marius went in, but a few months lates Cliff had to leave the band to.[the actual members are: ??? (vocals), Christophe (guitar), Tun (guitar) , Marius (bass) and Johnny (drums)].

The Name
In Irish mythology, Balor (Balar, Bolar) of the Evil Eye was a king of the Fomorians, a race of giants. His father was Buarainech and his wife was Cethlenn. According to legend, he lived on Tory Island.

Balor was notable for his one eye, which could kill anyone it looked upon. He gained this power as a child when watching his father's druids preparing poisonous spells, the fumes of which rose into his eye. His eye was normally kept closed, only to be opened on the battlefield by four men using a handle fitted to his eyelid, or, in some versions, a system of ropes and pulleys. MORE....
